Default How could I automatically wireless sync every, say, 30 minutes?

An obvious use for wireless sync would seem to me that the PDA can sync with the main pc at a given interval, to check for new email, calander updates added on the main pc, etc. However, I don't see that feature as an option with the VZW wireless sync utility.

Has anyone found a way to do this?

If you are using Active Sync, connect your PDA then go to Active Sync on your dektop and choose 'options'. Choose the Schedule tab and under Server Schedule choose every 30 minutes. That should do it

He's talking about the additional Wireless Sync applet that comes with Verizon Wireless-branded i700 units. I don't think the aforementioned option works with it. :|

Is there a way to do this w/o wireless sync utility that comes from vzw?

I tried teh activesync setting, and it seems to be working, it does initiate the wireless sync applet, but seems to fail 3/4 times.

Any thoughts?

Is it sync'ing and then disconnecting? What do you mean by failing?

I've just spent some time on the phone with VZW. I was escalated to Wireless data svcs, then to a Wireless sync specialist, then directly to a support person for the company that wrote the wireless sync utility. He is in the process of contacting a member of his IT department to try and get info on one specific fix for me.

(Wow, what service!)

Anyway, the actual problem seems to be that it is actually working, the data does sync, but when the wireless sync utility checks to see if the sync was successful, the it's not able to find some sort of log on the desktop pc, and as a result it says that the sync failed, even when it really is getting the data.

So, still hoping for an answer back, but at least for now I know that it is actually working, somewhat.

I told him not to call after about 10:30 CST, so If I don't hear from him in the next few minutes, I'd expect it to be tomorrow. Either way. I was seriously impressed. Then again, I can't say I've often been disappointed w/ VZW customer service thus far.

Default Sorry for the delayed update

I got called back daily from this gentleman, until we finally found that the problem could not be solved without getting a few of his co-workers involved to try to track it down.

We scheduled an appointment for he and a few others to conference call me last friday morning, and (un)fortunately the device started working correctly (displaying time and date of last sync) sometime thursday evening... every sync I could run that day and the next worked fine. I think it's still acting up intermittently, but still...

*Wow!* for the great support from Spontaneous Technology on this one!
