Just got this email from Viewsonic tech support

Thank you for your inquiry about the ViewSonic PocketPC.

The release date for the Pocket PC 2003 upgrade is slated for early to mid August, but may be subject to change. For customers that have purchased the V35 or V37, a nominal fee will be applied due to the licensing of Pocket PC 2003. The fees have not been determined at this time. Please check our website for further updates and availability of the Pocket PC 2003 upgrade.

I thought if you purchase between a certain date, the update will be free.

i think if someone posts a CD image of the update, it will be free for everyone.
