Default X5 won't sync

All of a sudden my 2 yo X5 won't sync when it is placed in the craddle. Soft reset doesn't help. What can I do?
I use XP.

Of course it would be nice to have an excuse for bying a new one but...well...it has been working perfectly everyday for 2 years.

How about rebooting your XP machine?

An useful app called ReSync can help "unhang" ActiveSync. If rebooting your PC/Laptop helps with the sync problem, then you might want to download ReSync in case you would need it in the future.

I have booted the machine several times. Resync didn't help. They don't seem to connect at all. But the PC make a little ding-dong the the X5 is placed in tha craddle.

How about unplug the cradle all together and then plug back in?

This may be too obvious, but did you do a "soft" reset of your 5??? My 5 hangs up occasionally, too, and a soft reset does the trick.
