PPC Time gets Synchronized no matter what!

For some reason I have to set my PPC time different than my desktop's. To prevent the automatic synchronization of the time during ActiveSync, I uncheck it in the setting window of the ActiveSync Options menu. But if I disconnect and reconnect my PDA again, the time gets synchronized and when I look into the Options menu, surprisingly the check box is ON again. Does anybody know why this happens?

I have Dell Axim x51v, New ROM A12.
