Default Dell WM2003 upgrade CD

Just curious:

Has anyone received their WM2003 upgrade CD from Dell since the delayed shipping date? Mine is slated to ship this Friday (8/22) and I haven't heard anything new as of yet....i.e.: no updates on the update!

Thanks!
KCT

I ordered my PPC2003 upgrade on June 25th, and was given a shipping date of July 24th. After their snafu, I received an email moving the ship date back to September 4.

Since I was going to be out of town during most of August, I sent an email explaining my situation and asked if the CD could be shipped before the end of July. I received a response from 'Shanda' giving me a ship date of July 31st.

When I did not receive the CD by August 10th, I called customer support and talked to Shanda. She said that the ship date was indeed September 4th and there was nothing she could do to change that.

I understand that they are having problems with the upgrade, but shouldn't they have discovered it before they offered the upgrade? Talk about looking bad!

I have never had any info about my shipment being delayed. Should be about now.
If it doesn't arrive soon I'll just get a warez version. I'm sick of waiting. Of course my Axim is working absolutly perfectly right now. Maybe I should stick with PPC2002. At least all my apps work.

My date was put off again until 10/1 or so.

I'm also not having any difficulties with any apps on the 2002 version. In fact, it's working pretty well. I've been holding off on getting another couple apps since I know I'll be doing a hard reset soon anyhow with the update and I don't fancy inputting a lot of data that I might have to re-enter.

I'm curious if the reported speed improvements with 2003 hold up with the upgrade. Some of it might have to do with the PA255 vs PA250 processor change on the newer machines. (I have the older one.) Jasons tests on the IPAQ did show some nice improvements with the same processor and different OS's.

Even at that, I can't say most of the apps I run are speed dependent but it's easy to adjust your expectations to the fastest thing you've used. I'm actually old enough to have used 300 baud dial-up modems so I appreciate whatever the technology brings.

When the update gets here, I'll probably still wait for the rest of you pioneers to take a few arrows before I install it.

Thanks in advance.

Default Upgrade CD

I ordered my upgrade CD at the end of June. They delayed it until Sept 9, then until Oct 17. But, surprise, it actually arrived yesterday, Sept 19.

I ordered way back in June, it arrived today. I probably should wait, but I think I am going to go for it 0X.

It took a while, but I think I am finally up and running. I still have to re-install the camera software (Veo), but other than that I think I got everything I really cared about running. I had to download a beta version of withMP3, but all other software worked with no problem.

Was it worth it? I have no idea!
