Personally, I would stay away from Teletype, unless you have a plane. If you're looking for vehicle navigation and you live in the US or Canada, I'd strongly recommend
Routis or
iGuidance, both of which are OEM builds of
Netropa's Intellinav. They're newer than
Mapopolis (link is correct but site is down at the moment), just as fast at route calculation and re-routing, and have a much nicer UI.
I have had Routis for about 6 months now, and I couldn't be happier with it.
If you can afford it, you may want to pick up a better GPS unit - the best ones these days have SiRF Star II LP chipset, and you can get a
nice bundle from Deluo with Routis for under $250.
