Axim X50v -- not able to get network card config to hold onto 'The Internet'

I've seen this mentioned elsewhere in this forum, where people having difficulty viewing internet pages in PIE are told they need to set their Settings/Connections/Configure Network Adapters to "The Internet" rather than "Work".

Sounds reasonable, but try as I might -- WLAN turned on, WLAN off, connected, not connected -- I can't get this configuration parameter to stay on 'The Internet'. Everytime I come into the screen, it's been reset back to 'Work', and I can't get onto the Internet in PIE.

Anyone got any ideas?
