On the CDN site, the Axim 400MHz is $499 & the 300MHz for $325. But, on the U.S. site it lists the 400MHz for $293($397 CDN) & the 300MHz for $199($269 CDN). Why are the prices higher on the Canadian site?

Seriously, It is because dell canada has to take some profit also. Well, they have to serve the warranty, hire people as customer service, sales-rep., etc.

I have a friend living in Indonesia. He purchased axim X5 for USD550.
Imagine that ? That is because dell indonesia must get the axim from dell singapore, and dell singapore from somewhere else. The price of the axim X5 in singapore is already USD380.

i know that is silly. but that is actually what happened. I ended up purchasing the axim from dell singapore for this indonesian friend of mine.

of course it is covered only by dell singapore's warranty ... which means, if he broke it, he has to go to singapore to get it fixed.

dont they offer worldwide warranty?

I dont know about other countries, but in singapore and hongkong, the warranty only applies in-country. You can purchase the item and give it to your friend abroad, but the warranty is voided in your friend's country.
