Default XDA Non-Standard Headphone Socket

Non-Standard Headphone Socket
So you want to use your favourite headphones with your XDA. Now you can! Maplins have a 2.5mm to 3.5mm stereo jack socket Product Code: FA94C. It cost around a £1 - although you may want to buy something else as there is a small order surcharge. Mine came next day and plugs straight into the XDA. I can then plug my standard headphones or the link to my car stereo, into this.

NOTE: this does not work as a phone headset socket and means you have to unplug it if you get a phone call. I'll keep an eye out for a suitable 2 x 3 way 2.5mm socket to enable headset and stereo operation. i.e. you plug the phone headset into one socket and the above adapter into the other.

Maplins are at http://www.maplin.co.uk

Default Radio Shack also

Also part# 274-0373 Audio stereo to stereo adaptor from Radio Shack will let you use headphones for audio listening that have the normal mini-stereo plug.
