Default XDA -- GPRS Connection off Even with new ROM UPGRADE!

yes, now gprs connection can still be mainttained on standby mode, but whats the use, when a phone call comes in it still disconnects after uve answered the phone.

I have a sony ericsson p800. The gprs here works beautifully. When a phone call comes, it suspends gprs and when phone call is over, its automatically resumes GPRS connection. And wow, what browsing speed.(especially with OPERA browser).

Why cant the XDA do this and add bluetooth functionality. It would then again be my phone of choice!! (and to make it perfect, add a thumb board like the Sharp Zaurus!)

Hmmm....Nobody says it can't. The current model just doesn't. Don't forget the XDA is over a year old now (give or take) At the time this device was coming to market they put in a blend of features that were common in the market at the time, and what could be put at an acceptable cost at that time. SDIO? Why would you bother spending the money on SDIO at that time? There was nothing to use in it. Bluetooth, well that was probably a cost decision as well. For Pocket PC this was a first generatiom, mainstream device that I think HTC wanted to get to market with at as low a cost as possible, and see what shook out in the market place for future models. I don't think it was ever intended for cellphone users who use Pocker PCs. I think it was intended for Pocket PC users who use cellphone. In other words it was never intended for heavy cellphone users.......Worldwide it has done pretty well.

You intended main point on constant GPRS is a very good one.
