You also need a null modem adapter, available at your local Radio Shack for around $9.00

I use a Psion IR travel modem linked via IR when I am at home to connect and download email and avantgo while I am doing sittups and my coffee is brewing in the morning. Later in the day I use the GPRS. Using the Psion just saves wireless bandwidth for later.
