How to stop button lock coming off when I receive a call/message

I set my XDA2i button lock on then put it in my pocket, but should I receive a call or text then the button and screen lock instantly comes off. This is really annoying because it lets anything at all happen in my pocket, not to mention wastes battery life.

I want to be able to answer calls by pressing the green phone button, and just leave messages until I have time to read them whilst I'm not busy...

Does anyone know a way of fixing this so that button/screen lock will stay on?
