EVDO / 1XRTT Data sync losing callls?

Good day,

I have heard that many of the devices using EVDO / 1X to check their email effectivly tie up the phone line so that incomming call go straight to voicemail. I have seen this happen with Treo 650's and Audiovox Harrier's on Bell network. For example, when you set them to check email every 20 minutes, calls coming in while it is checking the email go directly to voicemail as if you had the phone turned off.

I was wondering if anyone out there wass having similar problems and if it is a network issue or a handheld issue. I have a 1x card for my laptop and if I was on the net, it would suspend my internet activity and give me a notification of the incomming calll along with the option of answering it.

Also wondering if there are similar issues with the HTC's etc. out there.
