Default WM2K3 SE available for e400

A WM 2003 SE update for the e400/405 is available from Toshiba's UK site.
Here's a link: http://uk.computers.toshiba-europe.c...verLanguage=13

I installed it on mine and everything works fine so far.

Is this software version compatible with the Toshiba e405 sold in the US?

It's working fine on mine. (I live in Massachusetts.) I haven't even had to soft reset since I updated on Sunday.

Plusses: Landscape view is good for some things, especially browsing the web and working with spreadsheets.

Can't really think of any others.

Minuses: the new calculator interface isn't as pretty as the old one.
Also, Transcriber was better in the old version.

I haven't noticed any speed differences, except that restarting after a soft reset (I had to do several of them in a short period of time yesterday) seems to take a lot longer than it used to.

Overall I'm glad I updated. My biggest regret is that I have ~ 200 Today themes which are pretty much useless because they look terrible in landscape mode.
