Default Start Menu after Restore

Hello All,

I recently restored my Toshbia e330 running 2002 and have many items on the start menu that I cannot get rid of. I've tried using the standard method and am informed that "That item cannot be removed." Anyone have any idea what to do? I thought that I may be able to use a registry editor but am clueless where in the registy I would look to remove such items.

Many thanks in advance.....

Get a process viewer. kill all processes not essential to a PPC running.
Use a good file explorer (total commander) to change the file attributes to non system, non read-only, non archive
