Default Msn messenger update not working on Toshiba e740?

Hello.

My updated version of Msn Messenger will not work on my e740. I keep getting the 'can't logon because the password is incorrect or the logon name does not exist...' It is driving me freaking nuts.

I did a hard reset for this program to work, the first thing I installed was the update and still I keep getting this darn message. Anyone know why, or if there is anything I can do about it? Is there another message program for ppc that will connect me to the messenger netwerk, like trillian? Please help me, i need this program to work. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you downloaded the right version - the 2003 version won't work on your E740. - sheureka

Not that I think you are a complete and utter idiot, your user name and password do work on your desktop correct?

Yeah, on my desktop i am logged on in no time. And internet works flawlessly on my ppc, seeing this whole thread was written on it.

The problem is in the msn software. Does anyone have an acceptable alternative for messenger?

You could try Imov. (formerly JabberCE)

Here is the download page!

Hmm, i just installed it, made an account (didn't work on the ppc version, but i could make one on the desktop), and logged on. But i don't see my contacts from messenger in this program. Do i need to add them seperatly? Or is it just not working in bringing in my contacts?
