Burrs in Belkin e310 replacement stylus

Hi All,

I bought some Belkin replacement stylii for my e310 - just in case.
I lost my pen recently so I broke out the replacements.

Wierd thing is - they all seem to have burrs. That is, they all scratch my Writeright screen protector horribly (to the point of rendering the screen hard to read). I tried rubbing them on paper to remove the burr, but to no avail.

Has anyone else had this problem?
Did you resolve it?

p.s. the happy news is that I found my original pen again so after replacing the scarred screen protector, I am back in business.
