I am considering a e740. Could you tell me it has a backup battery? I have read about the battery problems and it sounds like there is not backup battery. I bought my Compaq Aero 1550 Pocket PC 8) when it was released almost three years ago and I have been very happy with it, It has a backup battery so there would never be any risk for data loss.
No the e740 does not have a backup battery, however supposively there IS some capacitor of some sort that has enough juice to hold the RAM while you swtich batteries. But essentially every time you change the battery, you have the pottential of losing your RAM.
True, but I've changed batteries many times, and never lost any data - even leaving a battery out for 15-30 seconds ... so it's usually not a big deal ...
