Activesync connection as Guest when Partner

Has anyone esle seen this behavior. I've now seen it on two PC/PDA partnerships since upgrading to Activesync 3.6

1) Activesync 3.6 is installed.
2) A Partnership with a PocketPC 2002 is created.
3) Synch works

Later after many successful syncs. One day the PDA will only connect as Guest. PDA is connected and can be explored, just no Synch. Removing connection and re-establishing doesn't help. The only way I found to fix it was to remove partnership and Activesync 3.6 completely and re-install. I though it was an anomaly on my machine IBM with Toshiba 550, but I just saw it again today with a Dell machine and a Compaq iPaq.

Any ideas?

My Audiovox Maestro does this occasionally, and I've always fixed it with a quick soft reset.
