Default i-Mate JASJAR (HTC Universal) - Coming soon Australia

Well some of you would have seen the review/previews of the powerful i-Mate JASJAR

Dave's iPAQ I-Mate JasJar Review
PDAGold.com First 60 minutes with iMate JASJAR (HTC Universal)

It's initial release had it available in Europe and the US. But I'm glad to say I've seen it in pre-order for sale in Australia. Initially it was advertised for around $1,700 AUS with a release date of 10th October 2005. Far sooner than the 6710/15 but I'm sure more expensive. The link is below, but they've since taken down the product while they negotiate a better price and will be back up when they get a supposable better price. Which is good as I would image it should be around $1,500 AUS max.

Just wanted to share the knowledge and wealth. Not sure how many are in the Asia-Pacific region on here.

EDIT: Note I had missed the review of the i-Mate on this site ... woops

Interesting catch. I'm still waiting to see if Telstra is going to start selling it. More importantly, what extravagant price they'll be charging.

Thx.

Well they now have the confirmed spec's and sale price of $1,690. So they didn't reduce it much from the initial display.

Well as Telstra doesn't have a 3G network and only '3' and Vodaphone (coming next month) do; and as the unit has 3G capabilities I would go for Vodaphone.

Hopefully the current $49,$79,$129 capped plans will be available on their new 3G network!

Actually, Telstra just introduced a 3G network last month. More info here: http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/foru...ic.php?t=42375

Well those sneaky buggers .... and to think I thought they'd be only using the CDMA 1x as their highspeed mobile network.

I hope they are not trying to pull a fast one with a 2.5G network marketed as a true 3G network or something less.

But thx for the heads up will have to look into it.
