Acer N30 speaker broken - any ideas?

All of a sudden the speaker on my Acer N30 has stopped working. Unfortunately its out of warranty so this could be expensive. Everything else works fine and I have checked the volume/sounds settings.

Any ideas?

Well, did it stop working after you used headphones? If so, try plugging and unplugging the headphones 10 or 15 times really fast. It may just be that the speaker cut off switch is "stuck".
