Default E-200 and sandisk SD 256: weird problem

Until recently my Sandisk SD 256 card worked perfectly with my Casio E-200.

Because of too often soft resets and running frequently slow, I did a hard reset for a clean reinstall.

Afterwards E-200 couldn't read the SD-kaart no longer :bad-words:

With Flasformat I formatted it again [tried various settings] and immediately after I could access it.
Subsequently after turning off/on or soft resetting the PPC the SD-card was no longer accessable.

In the card-reader on my PC the SD is accessable, so this proves the Casio E-200 is the problem.

As the ultimate test I restored a backup [ Sprite ] of the former setup.
After that the SD again was accessable on my E-200 :frusty:

Therefore:
- E-200 after hard reset does not work with the SD-card
- "polluted" E-200 however works with SD-card.

I want to do a clean install [ PPC indeed more stable and faster] but I also need my SD card working :dilemma:

Does a anyone have a suggestion :?:

SanDisk cards are notorious for failing like this. Check out this thread for more info.

I have noticed that just because you hard reset today (and get your device "back to factory settings") doesn't mean that it will be the same device when you hard reset again tomorrow.

I don't know how or why; but I have had the SAME Pocket PC act differently hard reset after hard reset. I have NO idea why...

The only thing I can tell you is to try it again. I have an E200 also and have not had this problem with any of my SanDisk SD Cards (yet)...

Kind Regards,

Thank you for the replies.

I've heard of complaints with Sandisk cards, however this issue is clearly linked with my Casio hard reset.
