Default E-115 Cradle Change (Serial -> USB) OK?

Hi, I have Cassiopeia E115 with Seial Cradle (JK-514CR). Recently I acquired an USB cradle JK-516CR which was (I think distributed with E125). Can I use this USB cradle with my E115? If I can, I prefer to use the USB for the faster connection to my PC. It seems to fit fine, but I wanted to double check.. Also, what's the difference between E115 & E125? Thank you in advance..

P.S. I saw a new Cassiopeia (IT-10) on "Pen Computing" magazine. I am very happy to see Casio is still making Pocket PC though this one doesn't seem to be widely available.. I am curious..

Thank you.

That was wrong. I thought I knew but I don't. Disregard anything you saw before.

This pen computing article answers the difference question but not the USB question. I'm not sure if USB will work with the E115. The ports at the bottom are exactly the same though so I suggest plugging it up and seeing what happens.

Update: Back in 2001 a user asked the same question as you did in the newsgroups. He found out that it doesn't work so he sent that cradle back. I still think you should try it though. USB has come a long way since 2000 when your device was made.

Default E-115 Cradle Change (Serial -> USB) = Doesn't work

Thank you for your prompt reply.

Your link to the newsgroup article was very helpful. The conclusion is that E-115 doesn't have USB capable hardware, and thus it cannot work with the E-125's JK-516CR cradle.. Oh well.

Thank you for the other link (article RE various Casio midels). It's very helpful for me to understand the difference between 115 & 125.

Another interesting finding was that of AC adapter. While E-115 uses AD-C50200U adapter (output: DC5V 2A), E-125 uses AD-C59200U (output: DC 5.9V 2A). I guess I shouldn't mix 115 & 125 accessories.. Thanks again..
