Default Wierd sync problem with 2210 and Compaq laptop

Hi all
Need a bit of help with some thinking here :?
I have a 2210 and a Compaq Presario 909 laptop (Athlon XP) if I plug in my crade and 2210 ActiveSync recognises the PDA and starts the sync process. However I bought a Lil'Sync and if I plug this in I have to go into device manager and disable then enable the USB controller for the 2210 to be recognised. I have done a complete reinstall of everything and the problems persists. However on my desktop (athlon) the Lil'sync works like a dream. Any ideas ?? I previously was able to use a Toshiba E330 with USB Sync/Charge with no problems.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The laptop is running XP home, service pack 1 with all the latest updates from MS.

Default Fixed it

Hi all
For anyone in the same predicament the fix may be as easy as downloaded the latest laptop BIOS softpaq from Compaq and running it. Did this this morning and lo and behold the darn thing worked fine - didn't need to reformat etc after all. Ah well have a nice new formatted drive with lots of free space and little crap installed.

YOu might also want to download and install the latest version of Active Sync (version 3.7.1). There were some USB related fixes in it as well...
