Default Using 3X00 car charger for 1910 w/ adapter

I just went to Comp USA for a car charger for my 1910 for a road trip. They didn't have one for the 1910, but they sold me the one for the Compaq iPAQ 3500, 3600 & 3700 Series and told me to use my adapter. It will fit, but am I going to fry my 1910? :?

I searched for this topic before I posted and didn't find anything. I'm leaving in the morning and I'm scared to use this thing!

Thanks in advance!
Melanie

Mel,

I wouldn't try this. The connector is upside down on the 1910 and I'm certain the power pin-outs are also different.

I'd take the power adapter you bought back, and then I'd YELL at them for trying to sell you something like this that had the potential to fry your device.

Kind Regards,

I've used the cable that came with my iPaq 1915 to charge and sync my 3850. No problem! So it seems they just flipped the connector. But the 3600 series has a different size connector, and I don't know if you can use the same cable with an adapter to charge your 1910.

This is just my opinion; but when it comes to power cables, cords, sync cables, etc., I wouldn't try to mix and match.

you may get lucky and things may work out. You may end up frying your device. You do this at your own peril.

I've been using WindowsCE based devices sinc 1997. I'm just speaking from experience. I wouldn't do this.

Your milage may vary...

I might be wrong about this but I don't think that charge cable will plug directly into the 1910. You have to use the adapter that came with the Ipaq to use the charge cord. Personally I use a power cord from a 3630 that I owned with my adapter from the 3955 to charge my 3955. The power cable puts out the same voltage and amperage as the power cord that came with my 3955.

Melanie,
As long as the power cord puts out the correct voltage and amperage that the 1910 requires there should be no problems. To verify that it does you can check your supplied power cord. On the cord it should tell you what the input and output are for the cord. It should also tell you the polarity. If these items match then you can use the cord. Use the supplied adapter to connect the power cord to your 1910. Hope this helps.
