You can upgrade, the OS resides in Ram and not in Rom anyway.
Thing is the full os takes 24megs and yours oly has 16 so the optional components will have to be installed in Ram

WRONG...

The PPC 2002 OS upgrade rewrites ROM...

Order the upgrade from...

Thanks folks. I appreciate the help. I'm glad you passed on the link for the upgrade. You saved me some time searching for it.

Can I assume that if the upgrade is 24 mb then it will use all 16 mb of ROM and an additional 8 mb of RAM leaving me 24 mb of free RAM?

Can I also assume that the 24 mb used by the upgrade includes excel, word, outlook, and the other accessories included with the upgrade?

The update doesn't include some programs in order to take down the size to 16mb. You won't have WMP, Terminal Services Client, MSN Messenger and the spellchecker.

The first 3 can be downloaded from MS and you can then install them on RAM if you really need them.
