Default Those who are getting 4150, please comment on yellow tint!

i have heard conflicting reports about this. I know it is the same screen as the 1940, but I also heard from some article quoting an HP rep that the issue has ben fixed.

Thanks.

I believe the actual HP statement was that the screen was the same one that was use for the 1940's predessesor, the 1910. It was made by Sony and was considered an excellent product.

Its the same screen and some people have said that it does have a yellow tinge on it when they went to see it at some expo, but someone has recently ordered one and they can tell you

I'll give a detailed comparison of the screen with respect to my 2215 as soon as the Fedex guy gets here!

The screen on the unit I have has a yellow tinge when the screen is looked at from an angle. It's not nearly as bad as the 1945 I saw in Best Buy. The screen is pretty gorgeous and vibrant...more vibrant than the 2215 (which had a blue tinge at an angle).

I love the unit alot.

Woohoo! It's here. I second what Nikhil said...let me add emphasis that the angle is pretty extreme...i.e. 60 degrees off or so. No normal viewing angle. The blues are more vibrant IMO than the 2215, and overall I am impressed with the screen.

This is coming from someone who used a 3950 for a long long time, which was arguably one of the best color screens ever on a PDA.

Thanks for the replies. I am glad it isn't as bad as the 1940. I will wait to here back from a few more people.

Here's another view on the 4100 screen. I always preferred screens such as the one on the e755 and Ipaq 2215 (I have both) because the whiteness is much better. Of course, the 1910 and 4150 (I also have these as well) may have better color saturation but I'd rather have whiteness than color saturation in this case.

I have actually noticed the yellow tint from a different angle now.

I didn't think to tilt vertically, but there is a yellow tint at a negative 45 degree viewing angle i.e. looking up at the screen.

Doesn't bother me as I don't look at the screen like that, just thought that I would put that out there.

So, I guess they really didn't fix it.
