Default To switch or not to switch (iPAQ 5500 to 4300)

I am so tempted to make the switch from my iPAQ 5500 to a 4300 and just upgrade the 4300 internal memory.

Wadda think?!?!

I love my h4355. If you have the means I'd do it. E-Bay out your current one and step up to the only PPC with a keyboard.

The h4300 is nice but I know I couldn't go back to a smaller screen and half the memory. I'd say keep the h5555, unless you really need a built-in keyboard. The h4300 is really a step sideways compared the h5555, not forward. But like anything else do what makes you .

h5555 = more memory, better display
h43xx = smaller form factor, built-in keyboard, better battery.

You be the judge.

As always, you beat me to it! Even at Brighthand.com (casioman)

Half-Ling: Go with the 435x, you won't be sorry! The better battry and built-in keyboard are what kept me from the 5000 series.

Don't forget, yellow tint to the color of the screen at a certain angle.

I said the h5555 has the better display. The "yellow tint" is not a big deal though. If you owned a h4350 you'd know that.

So it seems the determining factor is the built in keyboard. How bad do you want it? Enough to give up the memory and screen?

The first PPC with a built in keyboard was the Hitachi G1000. Yeah I know, it's huge, no SDIO, and only 32MB onboard memory. My 256MB sd card takes care of the lack of memory. Who needs SDIO when you can access information anywhere with one device on the CDMA network. Finally the size, the G is still smaller and lighter then carrying the 4355 and a cellphone.

Anyway the 4355 is the second PPC with a keyboard. HP always steals a good idea when a better device hits the market. What's next a VGA screen like the Tosh e805.

My advice is to sell the 5500 and buy a G1000.
