Default SDIO card 56K modem?

I travel a lot, overseas sometimes and I stay in touch with a CF card modem and my Jornada 568. I'm planning to buy a 5450 soon and I would like not to use a CF sleeve, so is there a SDIO card 56K modem available?

Not to the best of my knowledge. I think analog modems are no longer high priorities for these companies... SD I/O support is pretty thin right now but in recent months I've heard Toshiba has created a bluetooth card, SanDisk is coming with combo Wifi/memory cards, and someone else has a camera. I don't believe other SD devices exist yet.

You may want to consider purchasing a silver slider CF sleeve which is pretty thin (if bulk is your concern).

Thanks Ekkie, I think the silver slider CF sleeve is a good choice. BT will be right for me for some (just a few) destinations, CF modem is the only option in most places to read/send mail, fax and access some web pages, sometimes I have to do it with a LD call!

No problem Ombu! One thing to consider on your next phone purchase is the Bluetooth option. Wireless connectivity is a tremendous convenience!! Connect to the internet without ever taking the phone out of your pocket (of course if you're operating in areas without a decent signal, then this is of limited help)!!
