Default SD card help: Inaccessible.

Hi, really hope someone could help me pls.

I don't know what have I done to my SD card. It was placed on my laptop SDCard slot for a couple of ours. It was fine. I just took it out and inserted it back to my HP 3715. This error message appear:

"Do u want to format this storage card to make it readable? This will permanently delete any files on the card"

The same thing happened when it was inserted back into the laptop slot.

I can't access the card now and I have lots of important information in it. Worse, I don't have a back up of the card.

Is there any way to recover the card's data??

Thank you very much..

What card are you using?

I sure don't want to say its dead, but there are cards that "just fail" - dead with no recovery possible. If it is possible Menneisyys would know how.

Check out this thread and see if Menneisyys has any tips you can use. I'm sure if you PM him directly he would try to help, but read the thread first before sending him a message when the answer may lie inside this extensive thread.

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I finally got my data receovered using Data Recovery Program.

Not all data recovered, though. Just managed to get back bout 90% of the files. Seems like a portion of the disk is corrupted.

thanks anyway.

You should read that thread anyways, on card corruption. Then, since you are buying a new one to replace it, his article on card optimization. Another excellent article.
Talks about problem cards, correct formatting for optimum results.

Then, finally, read his article on backup software. He is a wealth of information. I believe he has no life and just sits in a dark room with Coke and Pizza reviewing and writing. Thank god he does, its great information we all could use.
