Default ROM 2.20 on iPAQ H3660 ClearType Problem

I've upgrade my iPAQ H3660 recently with ROM 2.20 but have not apply the EUU2 update coz I'm waiting for EUU3 But here's the problem... 8O My iPAQ experienced loss of characters, particularly "-" and "=" symbols (so far) when I enabled the cleartype feature (via registry). It's noticeable in the Calendar and Notes application. Sometimes, characters appeared not in the inintended sizes though they're in the same zoom level (in Contacts' notes). All this, however, does not occur when I disable the cleartype feature. Any ideas/fix?

I've never, ever heard of this particular issue - I'd suggest a hard reset.

Yup, tried hard resetting my iPAQ and the problem still there. Apparently, there are a few more people experiencing the same issue as well. FYI, they're using iPAQ H3600 series, PPC2K2 ROM 2.20. So I can conclude that this issue on specific to those iPAQs 8O

Why registry? Co it's risky... hehehe. Actually, I prefer doing things without using any 3rd party software. That way, i'm in control of my system

Here's a novel idea... leave the cleartype feature turned off until Compaq/HP releases EUU3, and then try it again... Just thinking out loud

Thought of that but I love ClearType. The fonts display look so much better with it turned on

Not really on the 3600-3800 series, though. Take a look at a Jornada or a PPC Phone Edition and you'll realize that ClearType on the iPaq ain't.

Yet another reason I want to upgrade to a 5450
