Default retrieving files from damaged mmc card

Help! I had an unfortunate incident with my ipaq (ran over it with car). IPAQ is of course no more but unfortunately so is my MMC card. My card reader cannot detect the card and neither can my replacment ipaq.

Any hope of retrieving the lost files?

Doesn't sound like it... Was the card physically damaged (does it look like it was run over  )???

Yet another lesson learned (the hard way) about backups...

Do you have access to any other readers you can try the card in???

Doesn't look damaged but yes, I've tried it in another card reader and it can't detect. You're right about backups- I'm glad my new IPAQ comes with Sprite Backup instead of the unweildy built-in back-up.
