Default Port not available

I'm getting a "port not available" message when I try to ActiveSync. Specifically "cannot start communications with the desktop computer. The communications port is not available. Another program may be using the port, or it may not be valid."

I've tried reinstalling ActiveSync , I've done soft-resets, nothing.

Any advice? I haven't been able to connect for about a week.

Thanks,

Alb

Which Pocket PC is this? On 2002, go into Tools => Options in ActiveSync on the Pocket PC, and make sure the synchronization (first checkmark) is set to "`USB Default".

Also, if you've changed the "name" of your PPC, make sure AS is "looking" at the right name....I was getting the same message, and sure enough, I found that it was a simple naming issue.
