Default Outdoor screen readability of E-125 vs HP1900

How does the screen readability of the HP1900 compare to the readability of the Casio E-125 when outside?

Thinking about buying a 2200-Need the CF slot, and want a screen that can be seen outdoors as compared to the Casio.

Thanks.

If the screen on the 2200 is anything like the screen on the 1900, it will work quite nicely outdoors. Not QUITE as good as the 3650, but the screen quality indoors on the 1900 is nearly as good as the Casio E-125.

The only PPC screen I've seen outdoors is the Casio's, and it's not good, as I'm sure you know. So I intend to be more careful with my next PPC purchase re this issue.

Love the form factor of the 1900's. Hopefully the 2200 will be reasonably close.

Thanks for the info.

The iPAQ screen will be amazingly better outside than an E-125. The iPAQ screen was designed to be very readable both inside and out, whereas the Casio screen looks great inside but sucks outside.

The outdoors visability of virtually any of the newer PPCs will be better than the E125. They all use screens that work with replective light.

Having owned both I can confirm that the 1910 screen is far more readable outdoors than the E-125.

That said, and as nice as the 1910 screen is, I still haven't seen a PDA screen that will beat the E-125 indoors.

I too owned both, and I too agree that the outdoor visibility of the h1910 is far better than of the E-125. With the h1910 at least now I can use my pocket pc outside!!!

What I first noticed when switching was that the single pixels on the screen of the h1910 are far more visible to the naked eye, and it would be irritating to look at the screen of my new pocket pc at the beginning. They seemed to be surrounded by outlines. Also, I noticed that the white on the E-125 was "whiter" than the blueish white on the h1910.

I have to say though that after a week or so of using the h1910 (whithout switching back and forth to the E-125), I was totally used to the new screen of the h1910, and I am a very happy camper now. I have a device with a really beautiful screen, which is also readable outside in the sun.

Good luck with your decision. Whatever you'll get, there will be many things you'll first have to get used to before being truly happy about your purchase. Even if they are improvements over the old device!

Or maybe it's just me...

Hmm... I don't know the E-125, but I just switched my iPaq 3850 (reflective screen) for the iPaq 1910 (transflective screen). The 1910's screen is amazing! Especially indoors - it's in a different league from my old 3850 (even though it was considered to have a good screen when it came out). So I had the chance of a side by side comparison.

BUT, due to the nature of reflective and transflective screens, the relective one will be better outdoors, the transflective better indoors. My 3850 was much clearer and more readable in bright sunlight, than my 1910. That was my experience, anyway. Guess you can't have the best of both worlds . I'm still very happy with my new 1910, and it's screen .

Thomas.
