Default Next generation of IPAQ news?

I was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the next generation of IPAQ's? I really like the 5555 and thinking of purchasing it, but I was wondering what HP is thinking of coming out with next.

My main issue is speed, battery and expandibility. Just curious if anyone has heard anything new.

When you consider the Windows Mobile 2003 series devices (iPAQ 1945, 2215, 5555) just came out in June, I don't think you'll see any "next generation" devices for quite some time. It's not like they can crank out new hardware every 60 days. ;-)

I thought he/she meant if there was going to be any new devices coming out with Windows Mobile 2003, not in regards to the hardware.

I was thinking about new hardware. Actually, I would think that WITH PPC 2003 coming out, that you would see new hardware that would take advantage of it natively rather than being upgraded to that version.

If the 'Man' (Jason) hasn't heard anything, that's good enough for me! IPAQ 5555 here I come!!!

What about this alleged 4000 series?

There's been a couple pictures of a PPC with a flip screen uncovering a keyboard, like a mini-tablet-pc... If that's going to be the 4000 series, I'm kind of anxious.. I know I probably won't get it, I just like gawking at things anyway lol, but yeah just thought I'd give in my $0.02

And I just ordered an h2215 anyway... That's going to do me for the next year or two. lol

Well, just remember that I might not be able to say much due to various NDAs that I'm under... ;-)

ricksfiona,
I have an idea on how to get Jason to tell all. I'll hold him down and you tickle him until he spills all.

I am in the same boat. I am waiting to see what HP is about to offer next before I buy. Next week is THE WEEK when HP will be showing what's next. There are at least two shows next week and I can't wait.

I have to be honest, I'm not that crazy about the design of the 4000 with the keyboard. I was really hoping for a thumboard. :? But if it has 128mb RAM and the keyboard is detachable I'll go for it. If not I get the h2215.

Cheers
Paula
