Default Network Syncing with 2002

Well, I am both happy, and sad to say I traded in and went from a e-115 to a iPAQ H3870. Sad becase I have run into a major problem, and Compaq's staff is less knolageable than a jackass on the subject. I am a contractor for Compaq, and I am less than happy with what they hire for tech support for Bank Of America, however I don't think Compaq had much a choice in the picking of staff.

Any how enfough of the rant.

I have the active sync computer in the win's server area, I have verifyed I have a connection, yet I can't sync with the hosting computer. I would assume the setup is no diffrent, except for the fact the client side of the connection just assumes network, and dosn't let you pick it any more. Any ideas? Any walktoughs out there? Im going nuts and am fealing like I wanna return it allreaddy. The connection acts like its gonna work, then active sync stops wh out working and no errors... Thats the best result I have gotten yet.

That XP firewall will get ya' every time - I was struggling to network two PCs together for hours until I found a site that said the XP firewall doesn't allow local peer to peer traffic to flow. WHAT???
