Default iPaq 5555 - Now available for preoder

You can now pre-order the iPaq 5555 for only $599.99. I was going to buy a refurbished iPaq 5455 from hpshopping.com for $499 plus $15 shipping, but now seeing this deal I preodered it at Amazon.com.

If I had bought the 5455, I would have had to pay for the Pocket PC 2003 upgrade.

You can buy my old iPaq 1910 here:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ory=38331&rd=1

A reserve price of $215, or buy it now for $250!

Here's the link for those who don't want to spend time looking it up:

Says it'll be available June 30th! I've used one, and it's a pretty slick machine!

Default details please

Is this the basically updated model?
- no new screen changes, no new boost in processor/m,emory and basically the only"new thing" hardware-wise is the SDIO?
- software (OS) I assume it is loaded with PPC2003.
Can anyone share the fact/detail sheet on this yet?
thanx

I obviously can't share details, but I will say that (in my opinion) HP wouldn't release a whole new product with the only update being SDIO...

Good to see they are becoming available. Still can't decide which one to get though. Just sold my 1910 on eBay.

IMO, no change needs to be made to the screen!

I've heard that it will have 128 megs of RAM and the newer PXA255 processor though...whether or not that is accurate remains to be seen.

I also heard that it will have the PXA255 CPU and will have the 200 MHz FSB AND of course the 128 Mb RAM 8) .

The sim slot is also no good (still), however I have been told by HP that (yet) another device in this series will be released in Q1 2004 that will have BT, WiFi and GPRS 8O

I would love to know how the battery performs on the new 5500 though :?
