Default Ipaq 3600 rechageing prob

Hi ,
I am using an Ipaq 3600 and working fine until today. I purchased a car charger and as soon as I blugged the Ipaq to, the fuse had been disconnected. In fact I discovered that teh car charger is the one used for mobile phone. Ok no prob for changing the fuse.
The big prob is when I wanted to charge the Ipaq from its regular power adapter, this one went off and no longer feeding. Blugging the Ipaq to the laptop computer, I have got a message saing "attention USB port is over heating" or some thing like that.
May I ask to please help me if you can finding a solution to this prob.
My Ipaq is still working on the remaining power of the battery, but this will not last long.

Many thanks in advance,

It sounds like you may have accidentally damaged the battery in your iPAQ. This might have happened partly because the battery is already getting a bit old (if it's still the original one that came with the 3600). The very first thing I would do with the remaining power is do a complete backup (you can use Activesync). I'm not sure how easy it is to test your iPAQ battery, but I'd go ahead and order one via the 'Net. You can Google to find the best buy, but I also think I've gotten a Jornada battery from batteries.com.

Good luck.
