i currently have a ipaq 1945 and ordered a ipaq 4155 earlier... i have a innopocket aluminum case right now for my 1945, and i was wondering if anyone knew if it would fit a 4155? thanks

It will, in fact, fit. Some of the cutouts aren't in appropriate locations though.

Yes they are basically the same. I bought a HP brand leather case. A little expensive but ya can't beat the quality.

I've got a 1935 (same as the 1945, but with differrernt innards), and my roommate has a 4155. I have 2 Rhinoskins: the aluminum and the leather flip-top. Both are form fitting for my model, and his fits just fine in mine. As was said before, the holes don't line up quite as well, and the IR is in a completely different spot. If you just want to carry the device, both models are identical and can use the same case. If you want to use the ports on the device in the case, you might have to upgrade that case.
