Default infrared beaming help!

I am unable to receive contacts from 1910 on to my 5450 through infrared port. I tried checking and unchecking recive all messages under connections-beam settings. still no luck.
Is there any mistake in what I am doing. I posted this few times but no response. Any help appreciated.
Thanks

That sounds like it should be rather straight-forward. Have you at least been able to confirm that the two devices can see eachother via IR? Have you been able to transfer anything between the two (aside from contacts)?

Default Same Problem

I have been having a similar problem with "BEAM CONTACT" (from h5450) to any other device..... I can receive with no errors... but sending causes an error on any other device I try (Dell, T-Mobile).

So one of you is having problems beaming to the 5450 and the other has issues beaming from a 5450?

Is there any known IR issue with the 5450?

I have seven pocket pcs. I had problems only with HP 565 and 5450 so far. No I did not try with appointments, etc.
I am not sure why this is a problem. It is embarassing especially when some one offers a piece of paper to take down the address.

Try this. Instead of choosing a contact and selecting 'beam contact' from the Tools menu, TAP and HOLD the contact you wish to beam from the list and then choose 'Beam Contact'. LMK if that works for you.

I had the exact same problem, and your suggestion works! Thanks....that's a really peculiar bug in PPC 2002. You would think the Tools Beam option would work!

Thanks for the tip. it worked between my 5450 and 3950 of my friend. Interestingly, beam the contact option under tools did not work.
