HP's ROM upgrade for the hx2490b shows a date of 6/15/06. After you do the upgrade the version date on the PPC shows 5/23/06. I did the upgrade because their ROM date was three weeks later than my ROM date. When I finished it was the same date and version number as my original ROM. While their techs thought the version number of my ROM was the same as the version number of the ROM upgrade, they couldn't explain the 3 week date difference and felt it could be slightly updated. It's FUN to reinstall all my software, re-set all my settings and options, and re-enter all my registration codes ! It would be great if HP would make the advertised date of the ROM upgrade the same as the date it'll bear after you install it.
