Have you been tinkering with the battery. I had nearly the exact same experience when my first spare battery finally arrived a few weeks back. My battery arrived a few days after the first battery patch appeared on the HP website.

Without the patch, when you remove the battery and reinsert it (or insert a freshly charged one), the 5450/55 does not recognize the battery and causes a hard reset (loss of power).

In my case I removed the original battery and inserted my fresly charged spare. When I powered my iPAQ on, if turned on for a brief second and the screen went dead. I soft reset the device and it caused a hard reset. Fortunately, before I started this I did a fresh backup and was able to reinstall everything in a few minutes. Tried it again and the same thing happened. I downloaded the battery patch and the problem went away.

The patch is available a as a stand-alone or is included in the most recent ROM update.

I know that I don't understand what your problem is. What does "pull information" mean? Is it asking for user input, reading a data file, what?

What program is the Tools menu in? Not every program has one.

The key to getting remote help on a problem is a detailed description of the problem. Don't assume we know what you're using. Start with what programs you're using, where they're running from (memory, iPAQ File Store, memory card) and so on.

Send a message via AIM to jeremyweisser

What you need to do is hard reset your iPAQ and then not install your backup. Instead manually install all your software again. The problem should go away.
