Yes turning off WiFi and Bluetooth will save your battery life. I only turn on my WiFi when I need to use it.

Yes, bluetooth and wi-fi consume large amounts of battery power. The other things you may consider are:
1. Backlight - Leaving it on maximum brightness can more than halve how long your charge lasts. Dimming it to the minimum level you're comfortable with and also the duration it stays on will help your battery last longer
2. Processor usage - The harder your device works the more the drain on the batteries (e.g. playing mp3's continually is a great way to drain the battery).
3. Auto-switching off your device after a short period of time. e.g. 3 minutes.
