Default GPS Recommendations

I am ready to purchase a GPS solution for my iPaq 3955. I've done my reading and I'm leaning towards CoPilot. However, I need to get some feedback from the people already using GPS with their iPaqs.

:?: What do YOU recommend for software, hardware, or a bundled package and why? What would you recommend that I use as a holder (for the dashboard)?

Any insight that you can provide me on your experience with your GPS setup is greatly appreciated. I should say that I will only use this in the US (for now).

Thanks again.

Robert

I think many people are recommending TomTom's GPS setup. They have a wired setup that should work with your iPaq. Or if you get a bluetooth adapter you can get TomTom's bluetooth setup. TomTom is popular in Europe and the beta testers that reported here say the maps are pretty good here too.

I can't go into details as to what-sis and why-fors because I'm under NDA with TomTom; but their setup is pretty good.

The only issue you will have (this is known with their European package) is that navigating across the boarder of a map area or region is a bit difficult.

I can expound more after the beta is complete and the product is released. But i have both CoPilot 3 and now TomTom and prefer the TomTom unit.

Kind Regards,

I thought TomTom was supposed to be released this week? Any idea when they will be releasing it?

I have heard that they will be here in the States in 3 weeks.

I am concerned about thier bluetooth GPS...it got less than steller reviews at GPS Passions and it is priced (as a bundle) about $100-200 more than the competitors.

Having said that, I like the look of the software and all of the mounting options.

I am just undecided.
