I am trying to sync my Pocket PC to a new computer. I had no problems syncing to my old computer (not that old only 1 year) but I we just lost the hard drive so I want to switch my Pocket PC to the newer computer.

I originally loaded the Active Sync from the installation disc version 3.7 and did not install Microsoft Outlook 2002 because I am currently running Microsoft Outlook 2003.

I want to sync all the data on my Pocket PC onto the new computer. When trying to sync it appears to get stuck in an endless loop. First it appears that everthing syncs (calendar, contacts, inbox, files) and then it will appear to repeat the process and come up with xxx items not synchronized and xxx unresolved items. It will keep looping until I hit STOP.

I then downloaded Active Sync 3.8 hoping that it would resolve the problem but no such luck.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to Pocket PC Thoughts.

First of all, which Pocket PC do you have?

I have the IPAQ HP Pocket PC. I was able to resolve my problem - it had something to do the contacts for which I had added notes. They did not want to sync with the computer but I was able to manually address the problems.

There are many different HP iPAQ Pocket PCs. The reason why I was interested was because some of the newer ones based on Windows Mobile 5.0 constantly run into problems with ActiveSync 4.0, and requires a bit of troubleshooting in the firewall department.
