On my ipaq 1945 (a few years old but still works good), whenever I connect via bluetooth the light blinks blue. The blinking is really annoying especially in dim lit rooms.

Is there a registry hack or something to stop it from blinking and just remain solid? Or maybe just turn it off all together? I know it is there to remind you to turn it off to save power, but it is really irritating.

side: its bothered me since I bought the device, but just now I decided to see if there was anything I can do about it.

Duct tape

I really don't recall any software solution to this. It is brought up periodically though, so you are not alone.

dang. I'm a software writter. Maybe I can come up with a hack or something, if it isn't all hardware controlled. I thought about pulling the thing apart and just disconnecting the LED.

Yes, AFAIK it's impossible to deactivate the LED in the 1940/2210 series in software (thru the Registry), unlike in the hx4700.

I didn't know you could do it on any PPC. Could you post the reg hack for the 4700? Might be a similar fix in other PPCs, though I'm sure you are right about the 1940/2210 and probably 4155/4355.

1. Open up your favorite registry editor and go to
\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\BuiltIn\BWLEDMgr

2. Inside the BWLEDMgr keyfolder is a string called "Dll"

3. Rename that to, say, "xDll" (its name can be anything) then do a soft reset. That should take out the blue led.
