Hi, I noticed that there was a recent thread comparing the 4350, 2210, and the axim, but i'd like to know what your ideas about the new axim compared to the 4150? IMO, I do not like the square design of the axim, but it appears to be the same size as the 4150. Also, the Axim is much much cheaper with the same specs. In conclusion, the only thing keeping me away from the axim is the design. Should I not worry about this, or is it worth going for the HP 4150 because of higher quality/better design?
i dont see any way that 4155 is better than x30.
you are talking about the design but i personaly find the design of x30 very good and i would definately go for x30

The 4155 is quite a bit smaller than the X30. Both would do fine. depends what u going to use it for. For me 4155 is better as I can slip it into my pocket very easly when Im in the gym listening to MP3s.
Also, if you check the forums on www.aximsite.com, you can see that there are a lot of hardware issues with the X30's screen mainly because it is so new and hasn't been tested enough. I guess I'll have to wait till the new ipaqs come out and then get a 4150 if these issues are not fixed by July.
X30 is definitely a better value, but in terms of size, there is quite a bit of difference. X30 is larger and due to its sqaured design, it feels even bigger in your hand. Also it is not as comfortable as 4150 to hold for a long time. But, it has a jog dial, whiter screen, and overall better specs at cheaper price.
It's a matter of what is important to you. I think the Dell design is so-so, but taste is very subjective.
Spec-wise the Dell is clearly the better value, but how do you quantifiy size. A PDA is supposed to be small. Lighter is better. I now I overpaid for my 4150, but I had the Dell and found myself leaving on my desk more and more. It was simply too heavy. The 4150 goes everywhere with me.
Wireless is a snap on the 4150, can't speak for the dell. I gave it to my 20-year old and he loves it.
In my mind, if you can afford the extra bucks, I'd go with the 4150. If you want to stay in the $300 range, you'll be quite pleased with the Dell.

Thanks a lot for all of your input. Last question - do you think the prices on the current ipaq's will decrease right when the new ones come out? If so, by how much do you predict?
To be fair, X3 is not heavy. I don't know how much weight changes was from X3 to X30, but X3 actually felt a little lighter than 4150.
WOW, that is shocking. The X3 is LIGHTER than the 4150? If that is truly the case (and I don't doubt you ignar, I just had no idea), then that changes my answer. I still think the 4150 looks better, but no way is the difference in price enough to compensate for looks alone.
To answer your question, yes the prices on the 4150 will start to decline. The question is how long are you willing to wait?

I think the x30 and the 4150 are the same price now - I got my 4150 for £270 - some well known net sellers are selling it for about £250 ish.
4150 is a great bit of hardware buy the best PPC maker. There are just so many little touches that you see latter that make the 4150 great.
Also I think Its a compleat package. Has everything almost you need without having to shell out for more accesrorys. One thing I like is that the Powersuply can be useds seprate from the cradle - with my Palm t3 I had to take the cradle with me if I wanted to charge it away from home. It also comes with a case.
