Default ActiveSync error I could use some input on

I have had my 5455 for a while now, but recently I have been getting an error when trying to sync my device. "ActiveSync cannot log on to Microsoft Outlook". What confuses me is that I do not get an error as long as Outlook is actually running when I do the sync. The only thing that I have done configuration wise is I recently installed the latest Service Pack for Office.

Thanks in advance for any input on this.

Do you have more than one profile for Outlook? If Outlook can't start without intervention (i.e., not having to select a profile), it may never get to a point where ActiveSync can communicate with it.

Checked for different profiles (as detailed in Office Assistant). As far as I can tell, I only have one Outlook profile. I still get the "ActiveSync cannot log onto Outlook". I have also noticed if I continue the sync anyways I get another error (probably about AvantGo) saying "Synchronization cannot be started because you are not able to log on to the network at access information." Once again though, if Outlook is running when I do the synch, I get none of these errors and everything syncs up fine.

Yes - I am getting this too now. I tried the instructions here, http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;243029 here: http://www.hp.com/cposupport/mobile_.../bpia2298.html and here: http://my-wireless-devices-internet-...pocket_pcs.htm but they did not work.

I uninstalled AS 3.6 and tried installing AS 3.5, but it did not work either.

Any ideas?
