I backedup my 3835 through the ActiveSync utility before I sent it in for backlight issues. I sent it in and they dropped it and scratched the case, so I asked for a replacement and they sent me a 3850; however, when I tried to restore, it said that the model numbers for the backups didn't work. I called Compaq and they said nothing could be done. Just an interesting warning...
