Default 54xx Battery Driver Update removed from HP website

This was posted sometime today...

"Shortly after releasing the SP23837 on hp.com, reports were received from a small number of customers that they had experienced problems. As a result, the SoftPaq has been removed from the download page. The set of circumstances that led to the reported problems have been identified and resolved. A new SoftPaq will be posted to hp.com with an updated version soon. "

The WLAN upgrade is up and available right now. I don't know why but it appears and disappears during the day.

Apparently the battery driver update caused issues with certain sleeves, like the CF+ sleeve.

I noticed absolutely no change in the way my device operates (and no problems either), but just the same, I think I'm going to uninstall the patch and wait until the new and improved one is available for download.

I just went to the software and drivers section of the HP web site. The battery update is still there. Hmmm . . . .

The link is there. If you go and click on it, there's no download page, just the explanation.

Default Acting up

I've only had my 5455 for a few weeks, and I had not really used my CF Expansion Pack Plus (with the battery attached) until this week while on a trip.

No matter what I tried, I could not get the device to recognize or to use the battery. I am not sure if it is due to the battery softpaq that I installed, or if this was an existing issue.

I am venturing to guess that it has to do with this faulty softpaq.

This is my 3rd iPAQ (3850, 3970 previously), and I have to say that I have seen more issues with this (HP) one than my others!
